Now this is an awesome Flashback!!! I came across these pics last week while cleaning out the basement.

This would have been October 1993. We were all together for Troy and Janell's sealing in the Salt Lake Temple.

Just a typical dinner at Nana's. And where are Jeff, Scott, Vanessa, Krissy, Kordel & Kurtis? You guessed it, over at the STINKING kids table. Umm, I was 20, still at that darn table!

Apparently we were celebrating Kalen and Vanessa's b.day's. Aren't we totally awesome looking? Yes I know, my hair rocks.

Don't you all miss the green carpet and matching curtains? I just want to grab that round pillow and roll it on the floor. Who is going to yell at me now?????

Flashback Friday

This was always one of my favorite pictures that Nana had in her tv room. Again, not sure of the year, could one of you Nielsen's help me out? And maybe a little bit of background on where and who took it? Just leave a comment. Thanks.

Update: From Virginia

The photo of us 5 Nielsen kids was taken in LaMesa, Ca. at the family home.It was in the small dining room that had french doors which opened up to the back yard patio.I believe mom told me once that the photographer was a friend of her/dad.I have a small print of the whole family - taken at same time (kids with parents)The year would be either 1958 or 59.I was in town (from Seattle - where I lived) for Ann's HS graduation.Ann was married in Oct 1959 - and it seems like she was just barely out of school so we'll see what the other sibs say as far as a date. I guess my first choice would be 1959.The dress I was wearing was a brides maid dress I wore at a friends wedding. If I could find that old photo - then maybe that would help even more! Guess this is a great reminder for all of us to put info on back of our prints - unless we are using a digital with the date on front of photo.

Ann graduated in 1958. We (I?)used to tease her about being a "58'er".That's really not Barbara in the photo...it's Chrissy. The tie came from Calico Ghost Town just East of Barstow, California. I won it from a one-legged gold miner in 1956 when I could spit farther than him.(We stopped in Calico during our move from Utah.)The color of the tie is "electric blue". Col Sander's original tie was black. But in 1997 KFC changed their logo to show him with a blue tie like mine. (It cost them plenty in annual fees for me to sign over the rights to my tie.)They used the famous blue tie in their logo from 1997 to 2006 and have since reverted to the black tie as a cost cutting measure after the YUM corporation purchased KFC from Pepsico. The tie remains in the KFC "museum" located in the orginal KFC in South Salt Lake (Murray), Utah.Doug is smiling because he knows he just barfed in my engineer boots that I routinely "parked" at the foot of our bunk beds...but that's a tale for another "Flashback Friday.-Tom
