I have LOTS of memories. One of my favorite is seeing Pop Pop in the temple when I was a missionary in the MTC. His temple shifts were different from my p-day. When the Christmas holiday came our p-day was changed. I went to the temple on one of his working days. I prayed the whole time I would be able to run into him. He was right there when I went through the veil. We had a chance to visit in the celestial room and outside. I remember him being so proud of me that I was serving a mission and that I would be speaking spanish. He was a good grandfather!

Thanks for making me cry, Jolynn :)

My favorite Poppop memory is riding in his green and white truck from Spring Valley to Sea World. I really wanted to know how the CB worked. He sort of explained it to me. I grabbed the handset and started talking to a trucker. Poppop grabbed it from me and turned it off. Guess he didn't want me to hear something I shouldn't.

The Provo Temple will always remind me of him. We did baptisms with our YW and I got to see him there also.

He was such a wonderful man!

You are half right Vanessa...Dad died on a Friday - but it was the 29th not the 28th. Easy to remember because his birthday is June 29th - so the 29th.
One of my favorite memories of Dad happened in 1979. When K&K were born in Feb - dad was not able to come to Calif for the baby blessing because of his heart problems. Yet just 6 months later he and mom came to our home because we had added on a two new rooms. He did all the wiring for that addition and we took time to go to San Fran to do some sight seeing. It was great to have him and mom there so soon after his health challenge.

Virginia: Are you sure you aren't looking at the 2009 calendar??? Because my 2010 calendar says that today is the 29th.

Tell Earlan to quit playing tricks on you and to give you the right calendar back :)

Thanks for the phone call to remind me about my error. I have no clue what happened to the 28th. All day yesterday it was the 27th - or so I thought!!
See what happens when you age. First the mind - then.....
Next time I will check the calendar before I bite off on wrong words - haha

My favorite memory with poppops was watching him build fires in their fire place. I also loved being with him out in his shop. I have missed poppops through the years. He was truly a wonderful grandfather.
