Family Reunion 2010

An Update to the Update of the

Jim and Margaret Family Reunion

The Weekend of July 24th

Hi Everyone,

There’s two months left before we gather for our reunion. With a few exceptions, I do hope you’re planning to come. I think we’re a neat family and I‘d like us to spend a weekend together.

  • A month or so ago, Bill found out that the Provo Temple will still

be closed on our weekend. The Mt Timp Temple is open. Will that

be fine? What is a good time for a session?

  • Games and lunch will be at Jolynn's church house pavilion after the parade.

Jolynn and Vanessa have also offered to help plan the lunch.

Sandy and Krissy will be doing the games for the young

and Cliff will be doing the games for our teens.

We can have table games or others games for those who don’t

fall in the other categories. WOULD SOMEONE LIKE TO “OVER
    SEE” THOSE?

  • QUESTION?

Would you like the skits on Saturday rather than on Sunday?

Originally, the skits were planned for Sunday in conjunction

with dinner. However, some of our family members may be leaving

    for home before then.

Skits – Each family unit, Jolynn and Jay, Tom and Cathy, Krissy and Shawn, and so on are asked to have a family memory

acted out in some way. This can be done through poem, song, or the like. The memory can be of mom and dad’s home life or a memory of our own family. Is that confusing? The key is a FAMILY MEMORY. The skit can be up to five minutes but no more.

  • Sunday – Church and Dinner (early dinner) at Virginia’s.

  • Family Photo – Is there a preface of when to have a picture taken?

Also, is there someone who would like to take charge of it?

  • Would you still like a family shirt?
Please respond in the comment section.
Thanks!

Barbara

If we're doing the session on Friday night, we would suggest the 5:30 session at the latest. After that, it will be pretty packed and we will end up waiting for a while to get through.
As far as a day for skits, I think either day is ok for us, but we live here. If there are a lot of people leaving by Sunday afternoon, lets do them on Saturday and have an informal get-together on Sunday for anyone still in town.
As for a family photo, we'd be ok with just setting up a camera on a tripod. Saturday would probably be the best day since most everyone should be around. Maybe in the morning or before the activities, or perhaps in the evening right before the program?
We're still looking forward to seeing everyone!

Kordel and Heather have said it well. I don't have anything else to add. Just looking forward to seeing you.

How long will we be at the church? Are we doing the skits there? I will reserve the area longer, if needed. If we do the skits Sat. evening at the church we should plan for another meal.

Please remember that Utah is very hot in July so we will have the church building unlocked if we need to go inside and into the airconditioned building. (We could also make a trip over to the city pool if needed!)

After the parade there are lots of activies in SF, inlcuding a carnival if anyone is interested. There is also a GREAT firework show that evening. They shoot them off near the ball park. So we always go over around 9pm, lay out blankets, run around, eat food and then enjoy the program that begins around 10pm. It's completely free and is always wonderful. There is music playing, bathrooms available and even a snack bar open.

Our family can also save seats for the parade on friday night. We will let you know the location on Friday. Bring umbrellas and water!

We will be there either way so we can do what works best for everyone else as far as the program goes.

I do agree with Jolynn...Saturday program would probably mean another meal. I think it might be good to have that meal and maybe the program in the church building, if possible, after a day out in the sun and heat. Good idea Jolynn.

Have we arranged for babysitters during the temple session or do I need to find my own...I actually do have friends nearby that are available...just planning ahead on that?
